Cockermouth
Cockermouth is an old market town and civil parish in the District of Allerdale in Cumbria, England, so called because it is at the assemblage of the River Cocker as it flows right into the River Derwent. The mid-2010 census price quotes state that Cockermouth has a population of 8,204, enhancing to 8,761 at the 2011 Census. Historically a part of Cumberland, Cockermouth is positioned outside the English Lake District on its northwest edge. Much of the building core of the town remains the same given that the fundamental middle ages format was completed the 18th and 19th centuries. The regenerated market location is now a central historical emphasis within the town as well as shows events from its 800-year history. The community is prone to flooding and seasoned serious floods in 2005, 2009, as well as 2015.
