Brampton
Brampton (population 4,627) is a small market community, civil parish as well as electoral ward within the City of Carlisle area of Cumbria, England, about 9 miles (14 kilometres) eastern of Carlisle and also 2 miles (3.2 km) south of Hadrian's Wall. Historically part of Cumberland, it is positioned off the A69 road which bypasses it. Brampton railway station, on the Newcastle as well as Carlisle Railway, has to do with a mile outside the community, near the community of Milton. St Martin's Church is popular as the only church designed by the Pre-Raphaelite architect Philip Webb, and consists of one of the most elegant collections of tarnished glass windows designed by Sir Edward Burne-Jones, and also performed in the William Morris workshop.
