Parquet Flooring in Eastleigh
Parquet flooring is a kind of wood flooring in which small wood blocks or strips are installed together to make a distinctive pattern over the entirety of the floor. Parquet was traditionally installed with each individual strip meticulously laid, but modern parquet is available in bigger tiles or planks to provide the same effect. Parquet floor is a very stylish flooring option which is most effective in large rooms or hallways where the attractive design can be best exhibited. Parquet comes in numerous different patterns, the most common of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet can be manufactured from an enormous variety of different woods, but oak is the most common, along with mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet flooring can come in either solid wood or engineered wood varieties, the latter of which feature several layers of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood. Parquet flooring is durable and needs little maintenance. It is, however, unsuitable for areas that contain lots of moisture or humidity as the wood will warp or flex under these conditions. Parquet is usually installed using a series of tiles that are glued to the subfloor with an adhesive. An experienced parquet floor company will be able to recommend the most appropriate wood types and patterns for your home.
