Caersws
Caersws is a town and also area on the River Severn, in the Welsh county of Powys (Montgomeryshire) 5 miles (8 km) west of Newtown, and midway between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury. It has a station on the Cambrian Line from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury. At the 2001 census it had a population of 1,526, boosting somewhat to 1,586 at the 2011 Demographics. In contemporary Welsh, Caersws literally implies "Ft Kiss", although sws almost certainly stems from some other source. It has actually been suggested that the website may keep a Roman-era commitment to Zeus or maintain the name of a conjectured British queen Swswen.
