Yarm
Yarm is a small town in North Yorkshire, England. The community is on the south bank of the River Tees as well as is historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire. The bridge at Yarm marked the outermost reach of tidal circulation up the River Tees till the opening, in 1995, of the Tees Barrage, which now controls river flow over Stockton. As the last bridge on the river before the sea, it was superseded by a new toll bridge opened up in Stockton in 1771. The earliest part of the town, around the High Street, is located in a loop of the river, as well as the more recent parts of the town include the point where the River Leven fulfills the River Tees. The town is controlled as part of the District of Stockton-on-Tees.
