Parquet flooring is a variety of wood flooring in which small wood blocks or strips are installed together to create a distinctive design across the whole of the floor. Parquet was historically installed with every individual strip carefully laid, but modern parquet is available in larger tiles or planks to give the same effect. Parquet floor is an extremely fashionable flooring product which works best in large rooms or hallways where the attractive pattern can be best displayed. Parquet is available in a wide variety of different patterns, the most common of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet may also be manufactured from an enormous range of different woods, but oak is the most popular, accompanied by mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet floor can come in either solid wood or engineered wood varieties, the latter of which feature several sheets of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood. Parquet flooring is durable and demands little maintenance. It is, however, not suitable for areas that contain lots of moisture or humidity as the wood will warp or bend under these conditions. Parquet is typically installed by using a number of tiles which are glued to the subfloor with an adhesive. An experienced parquet flooring company will be able to suggest the most appropriate wood types and styles for your home.
The typical cost of Parquet flooring is £2000. Costs differ based on the materials and the provider selected. The upper price range can be as high as £2300. The material costs are mainly approximately £500

Knaresborough is a historical market town, spa town and civil parish in the Borough of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. Traditionally an area of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is set on the River Nidd, 4 miles east from the centre of Harrogate. The town is detailed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as 'Cenheard's fortress', with the name of the area experiencing several adjustments over the next few centuries. The development of the town commenced around 1100, when it began to offer a market and draw in traders to service the castle. The town was not awarded a royal charter to certify its status as a market town up until 1310 by Edward II. A market continues to be held every Wednesday in the market square throughout the year. There countless landmarks littered around the town that draw in frequent visitors. Some examples include the remains of Knaresborough Castle, the House in the Rock, the train viaduct over the River Nidd, and St. Robert's Cave. Knaresborough is also the home of 'Ye Oldest Chymist Shoppe' in England, which opened in 1720, a time in which there was much skepticism about such establishments. The town is also host to a number of social and cultural tourist attractions all throughout the year. It has held the yearly Bed Race since 1966, which is arranged by the Knaresborough Lions Club, and the Festival of Entertainment and Visual Arts (FEVA), an annual arts summer festival in the town centre, since 2001. There are 15 operating bars in the town, alongside a wine bar and various eateries. For all of your house upgrades, make sure to make use of trustworthy experts in Knaresborough to make certain of quality.
