Parquet Flooring in Sale
Parquet flooring is a type of wood flooring where small wood blocks or strips are installed alongside one another to generate a distinctive design across the whole of the floor. Parquet was traditionally installed with every individual strip carefully laid, but modern parquet is available in bigger tiles or planks to offer the same effect. Parquet floor is an extremely elegant flooring option which works best in large rooms or hallways where the eye-catching pattern can be best exhibited. Parquet is available in numerous different patterns, the most common of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet can also be manufactured from an enormous variety of different woods, but oak is the most popular, accompanied by mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet flooring will come in either solid wood or engineered wood variations, the latter of which feature several sheets of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood. Parquet flooring is durable and requires little maintenance. It is, however, inappropriate for areas that contain lots of moisture or humidity as the wood will warp or bend under these conditions. Parquet is generally installed utilising a series of tiles which are fixed to the subfloor with an adhesive. A professional parquet floor company will be able to suggest the most appropriate wood types and designs for your home.
