Parquet Flooring in Beckermet
Parquet flooring is a variety of wood flooring in which small wood blocks or strips are installed together to make a distinctive pattern over the whole of the floor. Parquet was traditionally installed with every individual strip meticulously laid, but modern parquet can be bought in bigger tiles or planks to give the same effect. Parquet floor is a very fashionable flooring solution which works best in large rooms or hallways where the attractive design can be best exhibited. Parquet comes in numerous different styles, the most popular of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet can be manufactured from a massive array of different woods, but oak is the most common, followed by mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet floor comes in either solid wood or engineered wood variations, the latter of which feature several layers of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood. Parquet flooring is durable and needs little maintenance. It is, however, unsuitable for areas that contain lots of moisture or humidity as the wood will warp or flex under these conditions. Parquet is commonly installed by using a series of tiles which are fixed to the subfloor with an adhesive. A specialist parquet flooring company can recommend the most suitable wood types and designs for your home.
