Parquet Flooring in Dulas
Parquet flooring is a kind of wood flooring in which small wood blocks or strips are installed alongside one another to make a distinctive pattern over the whole of the floor. Parquet was traditionally installed with every individual strip carefully laid, but modern parquet is available in larger tiles or planks to provide the same appearance. Parquet floor is an exceptionally stylish flooring product which is most effective in large rooms or hallways where the appealing design can be best displayed. Parquet comes in numerous different patterns, the most popular of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet can be manufactured from a massive selection of different woods, but oak is the most common, accompanied by mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet flooring can come in either solid wood or engineered wood types, the latter of which function several layers of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood. Parquet floor is durable and needs little maintenance. It is, however, not fit for areas that contain lots of moisture or humidity as the wood will warp or flex under these conditions. Parquet is often installed utilising a number of tiles which are glued to the subfloor with an adhesive. An experienced parquet flooring company can recommend the most appropriate wood types and designs for your home.
