Damp Proofing in Moreton-in-marsh

Extensions including garage conversions will often require additional damp proofing to be installed through the conversion, as the pre-existing garage routinely has a single skin design for walls and floors, which was not built to be in accordance with building regulations for habitable rooms. This damp proofing will have to be added to walls and floors. Furthermore, the roofing of the garage conversion will require water proofing. The damp proofing for the floor of the garage conversion will often be performed by using a damp proof membrane. This membrane is available in either solid or liquid form. The damp proof membrane will be placed down either on top of the pre-existing concrete floor, below the new floor, or as part of both, depending on if the floor will be a solid or a floating floor. In some garages, the walls will have already been damp proofed, but this may have to be improved as part of the conversion to be able to comply with current building regulations. The walls will need to be damp proofed in order to protect the brickwork from rotting slowly as moisture sets in. This can be performed by either applying damp proof membranes, waterproof rendering, or cavity insulation, depending on the type of walls that are already in the garage. Damp proofing is an important part of the building regulations that the garage conversion will need to adhere to, therefore is it important to make sure that your garage conversion makes use of appropriate damp proofing methods.

Moreton-in-marsh

Moreton-in-Marsh (population 3,493) is a little market town in the Evenlode Valley, within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Gloucestershire, England. The town stands at the crossroads of the Fosse Way Roman road (currently the A429) as well as the A44. It is offered by Moreton-in-Marsh railway station on the Cotswold Line. It is relatively level and low-lying compared to the surrounding Cotswold Hills. The River Evenlode climbs near Batsford, runs around the edge of Moreton and also twists towards Oxford, where it streams right into the Thames simply east of Eynsham. Just over 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east of Moreton, the 4 shire rock noted the boundary of the historic counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire, till the re-organisation of the area borders in 1931. Ever since it notes the gathering place of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire. Moreton is originated from Old English which indicates "Farmstead on the Moor" and "in Marsh" is from henne as well as mersh meaning a marsh made use of by birds such as moorhens. An alternate tip is that 'Marsh' is a corruption of 'March', early English for boundary.
