Fraserburgh is a town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. In accordance with the 2001 Census, the town has a permanent resident population of about 12454, with approximations in 2006 suggesting a figure of 12630. The name of the town denotes, basically, 'burgh of Fraser', after the Fraser family that purchased the lands of Philorth in 1504 and thereafter brought about significant advancement because of investment over the next century.
