Faringdon
Faringdon is a historic market town in the Vale of White Horse, Oxfordshire, England. Within the historical limits of Berkshire, it is 18 miles (29 kilometres) south-west of Oxford, 10 miles (16 kilometres) north-west of Wantage as well as 12 miles (19 kilometres) east-north-east of Swindon. It is a large church, its lowest parts extending to the River Thames in the north and also its highest possible ground getting to the Ridgeway in the south. Faringdon was the western community in Berkshire up until the 1974 boundary modifications moved it to Oxfordshire. The civil church is officially Terrific Faringdon to identify it from Little Faringdon in West Oxfordshire. The 2011 Census offered a population of 7,121. On 1 February 2004, Faringdon was given Fairtrade Town status, as the first Fairtrade Town in South East England. It is the base for Faringdon Enterprise Gateway, which assists as well as suggests businesses in country west Oxfordshire.
