Commercial / Industrial Roofing in Carterton

Looking for commercial roofing in Carterton? Our commercial roof covering specialists in Carterton are able to offer you the top quotes for having commercial roofing installed or replaced.

Commercial roofing can be necessary for numerous reasons, especially if the present roof is in need of repair or it'll be mounted on a new build.

There are numerous variables that can contribute to the look and planning of a new commercial roof top and the cost will all depend upon the size and style you choose.

Thermoplastic roofing is especially popular. This kind of roofing is made of a sturdy material with high temperature tolerance. The material is a favourite for commercial rooftops because it's resistant against ultraviolet and chemical substance exposure. The roofing lasts for over twenty years, with a fantastic resistance for fire, punctures and high wind loads.

You might also think about EPDM roofing. The sturdiness and flexibility of EPDM roofing makes it a popular material in the commercial roofing world. These types of roof material have the advantage of being simpler to install, maintain and repair too, adding to their popularity.

If you wish to install commercial roofing then make sure to check quotations between vetted specialists in Carterton. By doing this you will get the top price and offer available for you within Carterton.

Carterton

Carterton is the second largest town in West Oxfordshire. It's roughly 2 miles (3 km) south of the A40 road and 4 miles (6.4 km) south-west of Witney. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 15769. The pattern of the present settlement dates from 1894 when a part of the estate was sold to Homesteads Limited whose director was William Carter. The land was split into plots of 6 acres and sold for £20 an acre with bungalows costing from £120. Numerous settlers were retired soldiers and people moving from the towns. Carterton quickly made its name in the market gardening world. Black grapes from Frenchester Nurseries and the popular Carterton tomatoes were sold at Covent Garden Market. With the development of the village, the small mission church at the central crossroads was replaced in 1963 by the church of St. John the Evangelist. The link with the mother church of St. Mary's at Black Bourton was kept alive by the donation of one of the bells from the tower. This was created by H. Knight of Reading and is dated 1619. In the first decade of the 21st century, the new Shilton Park district of northeast Carterton was constructed, offering a mix of housing for private ownership and social letting. The new St. John's Church of England primary school has been constructed at Shilton Park and construction of a local shopping centre is now finished. You'll find many shops, 3 supermarkets and automobile parking in the town centre. The Countryside Agency has awarded Carterton Beacon Status for the work that the Fast Forward team is undertaking on the regeneration of the town centre. For all your residence upgrades, be sure that you use trustworthy experts in Carterton to make sure that you get the very best quality.

FAQs

How long does it take to fix a roofing sheet on a commercial property?

How long it takes to fix a roofing sheet on a commercial property will depend on the size of your roof and how difficult access is. Corrugated iron roofing sheets are much easier to fit than other roofing materials such as clay tiles or EDPM rubber, so that will work in your favour.

The size of the team of the roofing company you engage will also make a difference. If they have a lot of tradespeople working on your roof with lots of experience, it will take less time, while if there are only a couple of people it will take longer.

Another thing to bear in mind when considering how long it will take to fix a roofing sheet is the weather. If it starts to rain, the contractors will probably have to stop and wait, as the roof will be too slippery to work on.

In general, it should take between 1 and 3 days to fit roofing sheets on a commercial property. If you’re not having a full roof replacement, it may only take one day, whereas a completely new metal roof could take up to 3 days.

How much does it cost to replace a commercial roof?
How much it costs to replace a commercial roof depends on the type of roof you have and the size of your commercial property. Lots of commercial buildings have flat roofs, which are often made from felt, asphalt, EDPM rubber or fibreglass, while others are pitched roofs that might be made from tiles, shingle or metal. It’s likely that your commercial roof will need replacing if it’s more than 25 years old. A roofer can carry out an inspection to determine what, if any, work is needed, but there’s a high chance that you’ll need a roof replacement if it’s that old. If your flashing is looking worse for wear or you’re missing a number of tiles or shingles, it might be time to replace your commercial roof. So how much does it cost to replace a commercial roof? If your commercial roof is pitched, expect to spend between £4,500 and £7,500. It all depends on how large your property is and how easy access is, as the more scaffolding you need, the more it will cost. If your commercial property has a flat roof, the average cost would be approximately £4,500. Again, it all depends on the material, access and how large the roof is. Felt costs between £40-70 per square metre, while fibreglass costs between £80-110. Whatever type of commercial roof you have or what it’s made from, make sure you get a few quotes from reputable roofing companies so you know that the job will be done well.

How to find a commercial roofer near me?

To find a commercial roofer near you, you could ask other tenants or property owners whether they can recommend a company. If you choose a company that’s been recommended to you, make sure you do your own research into them before you decide to engage them; you can check whether they have social media pages, reviews and examples of previous work. If the company has a Quotatis profile, you’ll find genuine reviews from their customers there, including photos of work they’ve completed.

Another option is to do your own search online. These days lots of companies will have their own website and you may be able to make an enquiry through there without even having to call them. Again, you should always check out their qualifications, previous work and reviews before deciding to go with them.

Or, you could let Quotatis do the work for you. Simply tell us about your commercial roofing project and where the property is and we’ll put you in touch with up to 4 reputable commercial roofers that will be able to offer you a free, no-obligation quote. You can check out their reviews, qualifications, insurance and photos of work on their profile which we’ll send to you in an email when we’ve matched you. The roofing companies should contact you first, but if they don’t we’ll give you all their details so you can introduce yourself.

Am I liable for a leaking roof in a commercial property?

Whether you’re liable for a leaking roof in a commercial property will depend on your ownership status and any contracts. Of course, if you own a standalone commercial property, it would make it your responsibility to repair to leaking roof. But if you own an office within a building, you should check your paperwork to see whether you are responsible for some or all of a leaking roof.

If you’re a tenant in a commercial property, things get a bit more complicated. Lots of commercial leases are FRI, or Full Repairing and Insuring leases, which means that the tenant is responsible for all external and internal maintenance and insuring the building. It means that it’s vital that you read through your tenancy agreement in full before signing it and seek legal advice if you think you need it. If your lease is an FRI lease, you are liable for a leaking roof in your commercial property.

It’s important to ensure that you have a schedule of condition for the property, which will mean that you only have to restore the commercial property back to the condition that it was in when you took over. It’s also worth getting the roof inspected before you sign the lease, as if there is any damage before you sign the landlord may be responsible.

The best way to avoid having to pay for a leaking roof in a commercial property is prevention. If you are liable for repairs and maintenance, make sure you have the roof inspected regularly by a reputable company to avoid having to pay for costly repairs when disaster strikes.
