Hamlet Court Road took its name from a manor house called the Hamlet Court, which based on land now inhabited by Pavarotti's restaurant and also adjacent shops, dealing with towards the sea with sweeping yards down to the rail line. The road later on developed into a solid independent retail area and swiftly arrived outside the area as the Bond Street of Essex.
