Wemyss Bay
Wemyss Bay is a village on the shore of the Firth of Clyde in Inverclyde in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. It remains in the standard county of Renfrewshire. It adjoins Skelmorlie, North Ayrshire. The villages have constantly been in separate areas, split by the Kelly Burn. Wemyss Bay is the port for ferries on the Sea Road to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute. Passengers from the island can connect to Glasgow by trains, which end in the village at the impressive Wemyss Bay railway station, noted for its building qualities as well as considered as among Scotland's finest train structures. The port is really subjected, so in high winds the ferryboats have to travel up river to Gourock to dock.
