Parquet Flooring in Stirling
Parquet flooring is a kind of wood flooring in which small wood blocks or strips are installed alongside one another to make a distinctive pattern over the whole of the floor. Parquet was historically installed with each individual strip carefully laid, but modern parquet can be bought in bigger tiles or planks to provide the same effect. Parquet floor is an extremely fashionable flooring solution which is most effective in large rooms or hallways where the attractive design can be best exhibited. Parquet comes in numerous different styles, the most common of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet may also be manufactured from a wide range of different woods, but oak is the most popular, accompanied by mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet floor may come in either solid wood or engineered wood styles, the latter of which feature several layers of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood. Parquet flooring is durable and needs little maintenance. It is, however, unsuitable for areas that contain lots of moisture or humidity as the wood will warp or flex under these conditions. Parquet is usually installed using a series of tiles that are fixed to the subfloor with an adhesive. An expert parquet flooring company can recommend the most appropriate wood types and designs for your home.
