Parquet floor is an extremely stylish flooring solution which is best suited for large rooms or hallways where the attractive design can be best exhibited. Parquet comes in a wide variety of different patterns, the most popular of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet can also be manufactured from a wide selection of different woods, but oak is the most common, along with mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet floor may come in either solid wood or engineered wood styles, the latter of which function several layers of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood.
