Garve
Garve is a village on the Black Water river, in Ross-shire, and also is in the Highland Council area of Scotland. It is situated 5 miles (8 kilometres) northwest of Contin, on the A835, the highway to Ullapool on the west coast, near where the A832 branches off in the direction of Achnasheen. The town is offered by the Garve railway station, on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line, which goes across the A835 road on a level going across. In 1890 Garve was proposed as the starting-point of a railway to Ullapool. The town has a primary school and resort yet no store. The town is within the Garve and also Area Neighborhood Council area. Garve and Area are served by the Garve and District Development Company, a firm developed by the neighborhood throughout 2017.
