Parquet Flooring in Blackpool
Parquet flooring is a sort of wood flooring in which small wood blocks or strips are installed alongside one another to make a distinctive pattern across the whole of the floor. Parquet was historically installed with each individual strip painstakingly laid, but modern parquet can be purchased in larger tiles or planks to offer the same effect. Parquet floor is a very fashionable flooring solution which is best suited for large rooms or hallways where the attractive design can be best showcased. Parquet comes in numerous different patterns, the most popular of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet can also be manufactured from a massive selection of different woods, but oak is the most popular, along with mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet flooring will come in either solid wood or engineered wood types, the latter of which incorporate several layers of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood. Parquet flooring is durable and requires little maintenance. It is, however, not suitable for areas that contain lots of moisture or humidity as the wood will warp or bend under these conditions. Parquet is typically installed utilising a number of tiles that are fixed to the subfloor with an adhesive. A specialist parquet flooring company will be able to suggest the most appropriate wood types and styles for your home.
