Newton Stewart
Newton Stewart is a former burgh community in the historical region of Wigtownshire in Dumfries and also Galloway, southwest Scotland. The community gets on the River Cree with most of the community to the west of the river, and also is often described as the "Gateway to the Galloway Hills". The main local sectors are farming, forestry and tourism. The town hosts a regional market, and also a number of services to sustain the farming industry. There are several hill biking tracks in the location. Newton Stewart rests on the southern side of the Galloway Forest Park, which supplies many tasks to the town. Newton Stewart FC, nicknamed the "Creesiders" play in the South of Scotland league, their ground is called Blairmount Park.
