Fencing in South Brent

Interested in having fencing installed in South Brent? With the Quotatis service you're able to do a comparison of as many as four fence companies in order to get the best deal available for the job you want.

Fencing is important for all houses whether it is the front or back garden. From restoration work to a full installation of new fencing, using a reputable company is highly encouraged to get the best price available.

Fences work as a perimeter to our households and with an installation you'll add more protection to your home and stop easy access to your back garden. Back garden fences are usually around six feet high, which instantly will make it more challenging for intruders to gain access.

Decorative fences or wooden picket fencing will often be most appropriate for the front garden, where security isn't as important. Instead, you're more likely to pick a front garden fence specifically for decoration and also to add something different.

For whatever style of fencing you're looking to have installed, make certain to use our free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in South Brent.

South Brent

South Brent (population 2,822) is a huge village on the southerly side of Dartmoor, England, in the valley of the River Avon. The parish includes the tiny hamlets of Aish, Harbourneford, Lutton, Brent Mill, and also numerous scattered farmhouses. It is 5 miles (8 km) north-east of Ivybridge and also 14 miles (22 km) east-northeast of Plymouth. On the high moorlands are several hut circles, units, and also barrows, all dating from the Bronze Age. The estate of Brent came from Buckfast Abbey from the moment of the foundation of the abbey in the early 11th century. It was bought at the Dissolution by Sir William Petre, a huge receiver of monastic spoils in South Devon. South Brent was initially a woollen and also market centre with two yearly fairs. Brent Hill is the high hill just outside the town where it takes its name (Old English brant-- steep). On it are the damages of an old building, expected to have been a church, as well as of a windmill constructed regarding 1790.

    FAQs

How to tell which fence is yours?

If there’s a fence dividing yours and your neighbour’s properties that needs maintaining or replacing, you’ll want to know who owns it. Start by checking your deeds to see if there’s an existing boundary agreement. If there isn’t, have a chat with them to see if you can come to an arrangement yourselves.

Do I need to tell my neighbours if I’m going to replace my fence?

It’s a good idea to talk to your neighbours before you start any work to avoid confusion along the way. But if the fence is definitely your responsibility and on your property, there’s no legal obligation to notify them. It’s also a myth that you need to erect a fence with the flush side without posts facing your neighbour’s property.

Can I attach something to my neighbour’s fence?

There are a number of reasons why disputes can arise between neighbours – all of which can be quite frustrating and challenging. In some cases, this can even cause serious friction and lead to an all-out war. When it comes to the topic of fencing, one of the most common questions that arises is whether or not you can attach something to your neighbour’s fence. If you’re having the same concern, then you’ve come to the right place. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into this to help you make informed decisions moving forward. Let’s take a look!

The short and simple answer to this question is no, you can’t attach anything to your neighbour’s fence. If your neighbour owns the fence and you’ve not obtained any permission to do so, then you’re not allowed to attach anything to the fence. Otherwise, you can get into serious trouble with your neighbour as well as the law. If you want to attach something or have the wall on your side painted using another colour, then there’s the need to get a permission from the owner. And while doing so, make sure you’re provided with a written permission so as to avoid problems later in the future.

Another question that mostly arises is what if your neighbour declines your request, is there anything you can do about it? Well, the answer to this is no, there’s nothing you can do about it unless you’re able to convince your neighbour otherwise. And you should know starting a neighbour war or being spiteful can only make matters worse for you.

What is the cheapest fence to install?

The cheapest fence to install is, generally, a pressure-treated pine wooden fence at around £20 per linear foot. This includes the materials and labour costs. Wire fencing is technically cheaper at around £5 per foot, but it’s not a great material to use in homes as it looks unsightly and doesn’t provide any privacy.
