Fencing in Mablethorpe

Interested in getting fencing installed in Mablethorpe? Using the Quotatis service you'll be able to assess as many as 4 fencing companies to get the very best deal available for the job you need.

Fencing is really important for all households no matter whether it's the front or back garden. From restoration work to a full installation of new fencing, using a reliable company is highly recommended to get the best price available.

Fences act as a boundary to our homes and with an installation you'll add security to your home and prevent easy access to the back garden. Back garden fences are typically around six feet high, which instantly makes it more challenging for intruders to gain entry.

Decorative fencing or wooden picket fencing tend to be most suitable for the front garden, where security isn't as paramount. Instead, you're more likely to opt for a front garden fence particularly for decoration and to add something different.

For whatever style of fencing you're looking to have installed, ensure that you make use of our totally free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Mablethorpe.

It will also differ among regions, so it's best to get a few quotes to see what the best price is in your area.

Mablethorpe

Mablethorpe is a small beachfront town in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. Mablethorpe is found within the East Lindsey council district of England. The town is administered with Sutton-on-Sea and Trusthorpe as the civil parish of Mablethorpe and Sutton. The former parish of Mablethorpe covers a rectangular region inland along the A1104 Alford Road towards Maltby le Marsh as far as the border in between the LN12 and LN13 postal code at Grange Leisure Park, where Earl's Bridge crosses West Bank. The southern limit of the original parish follows the Trusthorpe Drains, which are traversed at Bamber's Bridge on Mile Lane. Out to Alford lies Strubby Airfield, with the Strubby Aviation Club and Lincs Gliding Club. The population of the town was registered as 12531 at the 2011 Census. Regular family tourist attractions in the town consist of a small fairground and an acclaimed beach. Among Mablethorpe's long-standing heritages, its sand train, runs to take visitors to and from the northern point of the beach. Mablethorpe has actually long been recognised for its old-fashioned seaside amusement arcades. A variety of small caravan parks and guest houses deal with the town's tourist community. To the west is the Bambers wind farm, which launched in November 2004 and houses 8 turbines. These produce 5 megawatts of energy. The Bambers II windfarm, an extension of the first, opened in November 2006, and produces an additional 5 megawatts of energy. The 2 turbines at Mablethorpe wind farm, which produce 1.2 megawatts, were the first wind turbines in Lincolnshire when they were established in July 2002. FAQs

How close can I build to my neighbour’s fence?

As a home or property owner, you’re generally allowed to build next to your neighbour’s fence as long as it’s on your own side of the property. With that in mind, there are certain laws that regulate how close a fence can be built to buildings on the same lot or neighbouring lots. In addition, there are also local bylaws that provide limitations on the placements as well as height of fences so as to address safety hazards. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into how close you can build to your neighbour. Let’s take a look!

In general, if the fence is in your boundary then you’re allowed to build a 2-metre high brick or wooden fence or wall. However, this may differ depending on your location in the UK. As a result, you may want to reach out to your municipality’s building department in order to determine what these rules and limitations are in your area. In the events whereby there are no such restrictions but you’re still concerned, you can try informing your neighbour what your concerns are. However, if they’re not receptive there are some steps you can take to ensure your plans go as smoothly as possible. These steps include the following:

    • Ensure to leave sufficient space for both the posts and footings
    • Stagger your fence posts in order to make sure you’re not digging your neighbour’s
    • Consider using concrete posts as they’re much stronger and will last a lot longer
    • Use kickers or plinths for raised gardens and flower beds
    • Make use of concrete plinths as they won’t rot over time like a wooden fence.
How do I find out who owns a fence?

Speaking to the owners of the neighbouring properties is recommended. If you are still unsure, you may need to check the original deeds to the property. Generally the rule is that you are responsible for the fence at the right hand side of your property.

Do I need to tell my neighbours if I’m going to replace my fence?

It’s a good idea to talk to your neighbours before you start any work to avoid confusion along the way. But if the fence is definitely your responsibility and on your property, there’s no legal obligation to notify them. It’s also a myth that you need to erect a fence with the flush side without posts facing your neighbour’s property.

Do I need to dispose of the old fencing myself?

Most responsible contractors will dispose of the old fencing via an approved commercial waste site. Do check that the cost of taking rubbish away is included in the quotes you receive, otherwise you might find you get stung when it comes to paying for the work.
