Need 15 mtr long fence about 8 foot high. How much would that cost?
Looking for wooden fencing installers in Lauder? Our wooden fencing installers in Lauder will be able to provide you with the best quotations for having wooden fencing installed.
Fencing is required both for home and industrial properties for many reasons. It acts as a border for gardens and private land, acting as a measure of privacy or to keep people and animals in or out.
Perks of wooden fencing include added house security and visual appeal. By having a fence in position, it will become more difficult for criminals to get into your home and garden. Be certain to choose a design which will look great as well, particularly if for house reasons.
We will give you as many as four wood fencing installers in your area, who can provide quotes for the work you want done. You'll receive a property visit from professionals in Lauder who will help you select the right style for your house before completing the installation.
The fitting of a wood fence takes less than one day to complete, dependant upon the size of area you'd like protected.
The regular cost of a new or replacement fence is approximately £20-£45 per foot, not including removing your existing fence which could cost an extra £5-10 per foot. The labour costs depend on the length and height of your fence, the number of posts and the material used. It will also differ among regions, so it's best to get a few quotes to see what the best price is in your area.

The Royal Burgh of Lauder is a town in the Scottish Borders in the historical county of Berwickshire. On the Southern Upland Way, the burgh lies 27 miles south east from Edinburgh, on the western side of the Lammermuir Hills. The present population of the town is around 1500, although it is dramatically broadening as over 100 new houses are being created on the southern boundary. This means that, at the beginning of the 21st century, the population is approaching what it was at the start of the 20th century prior to the period of depopulation over the last 100 years. Lauder is today firmly directed by its distance to Edinburgh as it is now deemed to be close enough for people to commute into the capital for work. The bus service to Edinburgh is reliable though sporadic. Notable buildings in the town today include the Tolbooth or Town Hall, which predates 1598 when records show it being burnt by a celebration of Homes and Cranstouns led by Lord Home, in a row in between them and the Lauder family who were at the time sitting on the bench as hereditary baillies. On 18 July 1793, amid a serious and prolonged thunderstorm, a 'ball of fire struck the steeple above the Tollbooth, and did considerable damage'. Current discussion in Lauder is the town's expansion, whether it is required or preferable, the location of a new primary school and how soon one will be built, and the location and extent of wind farms on the surrounding hills. Also on the agenda is the dispute surrounding the formation of a brand-new health centre in the burgh. For all of your home renovations, be sure to find credible experts in Lauder to make certain of quality.

There are a number of reasons why disputes can arise between neighbours – all of which can be quite frustrating and challenging. In some cases, this can even cause serious friction and lead to an all-out war. When it comes to the topic of fencing, one of the most common questions that arises is whether or not you can attach something to your neighbour’s fence. If you’re having the same concern, then you’ve come to the right place. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into this to help you make informed decisions moving forward. Let’s take a look!
The short and simple answer to this question is no, you can’t attach anything to your neighbour’s fence. If your neighbour owns the fence and you’ve not obtained any permission to do so, then you’re not allowed to attach anything to the fence. Otherwise, you can get into serious trouble with your neighbour as well as the law. If you want to attach something or have the wall on your side painted using another colour, then there’s the need to get a permission from the owner. And while doing so, make sure you’re provided with a written permission so as to avoid problems later in the future.
Another question that mostly arises is what if your neighbour declines your request, is there anything you can do about it? Well, the answer to this is no, there’s nothing you can do about it unless you’re able to convince your neighbour otherwise. And you should know starting a neighbour war or being spiteful can only make matters worse for you.
Not if they are under 1 metre high if next to a road or 2 metres high elsewhere. It’s always recommended to check with your neighbours and the local authority if you are unsure. Other restrictions may apply, for example if a fence might impact driver visibility on nearby roads.
Most responsible contractors will dispose of the old fencing via an approved commercial waste site. Do check that the cost of taking rubbish away is included in the quotes you receive, otherwise you might find you get stung when it comes to paying for the work.
As a home or property owner, you’re generally allowed to build next to your neighbour’s fence as long as it’s on your own side of the property. With that in mind, there are certain laws that regulate how close a fence can be built to buildings on the same lot or neighbouring lots. In addition, there are also local bylaws that provide limitations on the placements as well as height of fences so as to address safety hazards. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into how close you can build to your neighbour. Let’s take a look!
In general, if the fence is in your boundary then you’re allowed to build a 2-metre high brick or wooden fence or wall. However, this may differ depending on your location in the UK. As a result, you may want to reach out to your municipality’s building department in order to determine what these rules and limitations are in your area. In the events whereby there are no such restrictions but you’re still concerned, you can try informing your neighbour what your concerns are. However, if they’re not receptive there are some steps you can take to ensure your plans go as smoothly as possible. These steps include the following:
