Are you considering having fencing installed in Gorebridge? By using the Quotatis service you are able to take a look at up to 4 fence installers to get the very best deal available for the task you want.
Fencing is important for all houses whether it be the front or back garden. From restoration work to a full installation of new fencing, using a trustworthy company is highly encouraged to get the very best price available.
Fences work as a boundary to our properties and with an installation you'll add security to your home and prevent easy access to the back garden. Back garden fences are usually around 6 feet high, which right away will make it more challenging for intruders to gain entry.
Decorative fences or wooden picket fencing will often be most appropriate for the front garden, where security isn't as important. Instead, you're more likely to opt for a front garden fence particularly for design and also to add something different.
For whatever style of fencing you're looking to have installed, be sure to use our free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Gorebridge.
The regular cost of a new or replacement fence is approximately £20-£45 per foot, not including removing your existing fence which could cost an extra £5-10 per foot. The labour costs depend on the length and height of your fence, the number of posts and the material used. It will also differ among regions, so it's best to get a few quotes to see what the best price is in your area.

Gorebridge is a previous mining town in Midlothian, Scotland. The village gets its name from the bridge throughout the River Gore, a tributary of the South Esk. It was the home of Scotland's very first gunpowder mill, at the Gore Water, that started running in 1794. Gorebridge has a yearly Gala Day which always takes place on the third Saturday in June. This is much like a community fair, with trips and games. The gala day has a tradition of picking a Community King and Queen from the primary schools. Gorebridge has 4 primary schools, Gorebridge Primary, Stobhill Main, St Andrews RC Primary and Gore Glen Key. Greenhall Secondary school made use of to offer the community but closed down in 1994. Local youngsters now go to nearby Newbattle Community High School, Lasswade Secondary School or St David's RC Secondary school. Gorebridge's regional football team is juniors Arniston Rangers who play house games at Newbyres Park. On 6 September 2015 Gorebridge saw the return of the Waverley Line with a new station improved the site of the original terminal. This provides rail accessibility to the Borders as well as Edinburgh Waverley train terminal. In the Gore Glen there is a shallow cavern, called "The King's Cave". According to legend a burglar used to take cattle and hide in this neighboring cave. It is not, as some believe, named after Robert the Bruce, who was said to have concealed right here after defeat at the hands of the English.

Most responsible contractors will dispose of the old fencing via an approved commercial waste site. Do check that the cost of taking rubbish away is included in the quotes you receive, otherwise you might find you get stung when it comes to paying for the work.
There are a number of reasons why disputes can arise between neighbours – all of which can be quite frustrating and challenging. In some cases, this can even cause serious friction and lead to an all-out war. When it comes to the topic of fencing, one of the most common questions that arises is whether or not you can attach something to your neighbour’s fence. If you’re having the same concern, then you’ve come to the right place. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into this to help you make informed decisions moving forward. Let’s take a look!
The short and simple answer to this question is no, you can’t attach anything to your neighbour’s fence. If your neighbour owns the fence and you’ve not obtained any permission to do so, then you’re not allowed to attach anything to the fence. Otherwise, you can get into serious trouble with your neighbour as well as the law. If you want to attach something or have the wall on your side painted using another colour, then there’s the need to get a permission from the owner. And while doing so, make sure you’re provided with a written permission so as to avoid problems later in the future.
Another question that mostly arises is what if your neighbour declines your request, is there anything you can do about it? Well, the answer to this is no, there’s nothing you can do about it unless you’re able to convince your neighbour otherwise. And you should know starting a neighbour war or being spiteful can only make matters worse for you.
Not if they are under 1 metre high if next to a road or 2 metres high elsewhere. It’s always recommended to check with your neighbours and the local authority if you are unsure. Other restrictions may apply, for example if a fence might impact driver visibility on nearby roads.
The cheapest fence to install is, generally, a pressure-treated pine wooden fence at around £20 per linear foot. This includes the materials and labour costs. Wire fencing is technically cheaper at around £5 per foot, but it’s not a great material to use in homes as it looks unsightly and doesn’t provide any privacy.
We can help you get more wooden fencing work with our qualified job leads and boost your business.
