Are you considering having fencing installed in Carluke? By using the Quotatis service you can assess as many as four fence companies to get the top deal available for the work you want.
Fencing is really important for all properties whether it be the front or back garden. From restoration work to a complete installation of new fencing, using a reputable contractor is highly recommended to get the best price available.
Fencing work as a border to our properties and with an installation you'll add more security to your property and prevent easy access to your back garden. Back garden fences are usually around six feet high, which straight away makes it tougher for intruders to gain entry.
Decorative fences or wooden picket fencing will often be suitable for the front garden, where security isn't as paramount. Instead, you're more likely to opt for a front garden fence particularly for decoration and to add something different.
For whatever kind of fencing you're wanting to have installed, be sure to use our free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Carluke.
The regular cost of a new or replacement fence is approximately £20-£45 per foot, not including removing your existing fence which could cost an extra £5-10 per foot. The labour costs depend on the length and height of your fence, the number of posts and the material used. It will also differ among regions, so it's best to get a few quotes to see what the best price is in your area.

Source: Numbers calculated based on the search volumes in major search enginesCarluke is a town situated in the centre of the Lanarkshire countryside in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is 4.7 miles northwest of Lanark and 4.2 miles southeast of Wishaw, sitting on a high plateau overseeing the River Clyde, directly at the heart of Lanarkshire's fruit growing region. In accordance with a population survey in 2008, it has a permanent population of about 19500, which makes it the Clyde Valley's most populated town. Carluke's expansion started most quickly through the time of the industrial revolution, with corn milling, cotton weaving, coal mining and the manufacture of bricks, glass, confectionary and jam becoming the town's most significant industries. Currently, Carluke is predominantly a commuting town. The town is served by dual carriageways connecting it to the M8 and M74, and additionally, it benefits from regular trains to Lanark, Motherwell, Hamilton, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Despite this, you'll find a number of major employers based inside the town. As a consequence of Carluke's proximity to Clyde Valley's major fruit growers, the jam business, Renshaw Scott, is a significant employer, which developed further by recently adding a chocolate refinery to their plant. Main redevelopment works have been completed in the town since the start of the 21st century. There's a sizeable quantity of independent shops and supermarkets in the vibrant and newly regenerated town centre, with residents of neighbouring villages, including Braidwood, Forth, Kilncadzow and Law, taking advantage of the wide range of shops and services that can be discovered in Carluke. In 2010, a '1.1 million indoor soft play and cafe', 'The Bubbles Factory', was constructed, which was voted 'The best Play in the UK'. For all your property upgrades, ensure that you use trustworthy specialists in Carluke to make sure you get the very best quality.

As a home or property owner, you’re generally allowed to build next to your neighbour’s fence as long as it’s on your own side of the property. With that in mind, there are certain laws that regulate how close a fence can be built to buildings on the same lot or neighbouring lots. In addition, there are also local bylaws that provide limitations on the placements as well as height of fences so as to address safety hazards. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into how close you can build to your neighbour. Let’s take a look!
In general, if the fence is in your boundary then you’re allowed to build a 2-metre high brick or wooden fence or wall. However, this may differ depending on your location in the UK. As a result, you may want to reach out to your municipality’s building department in order to determine what these rules and limitations are in your area. In the events whereby there are no such restrictions but you’re still concerned, you can try informing your neighbour what your concerns are. However, if they’re not receptive there are some steps you can take to ensure your plans go as smoothly as possible. These steps include the following:
Speaking to the owners of the neighbouring properties is recommended. If you are still unsure, you may need to check the original deeds to the property. Generally the rule is that you are responsible for the fence at the right hand side of your property.
The cheapest fence to install is, generally, a pressure-treated pine wooden fence at around £20 per linear foot. This includes the materials and labour costs. Wire fencing is technically cheaper at around £5 per foot, but it’s not a great material to use in homes as it looks unsightly and doesn’t provide any privacy.
Most responsible contractors will dispose of the old fencing via an approved commercial waste site. Do check that the cost of taking rubbish away is included in the quotes you receive, otherwise you might find you get stung when it comes to paying for the work.
