Fencing is really important for all properties whether it be the front or back garden. From restoration work to a complete installation of new fencing, using a reputable contractor is highly recommended to get the best price available.

Fencing work as a border to our properties and with an installation you'll add more security to your property and prevent easy access to your back garden. Back garden fences are usually around six feet high, which straight away makes it tougher for intruders to gain entry.

Decorative fences or wooden picket fencing will often be suitable for the front garden, where security isn't as paramount. Instead, you're more likely to opt for a front garden fence particularly for decoration and to add something different.

For whatever kind of fencing you're wanting to have installed, be sure to use our free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Carluke.

Carluke

Carluke is a town situated in the centre of the Lanarkshire countryside in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is 4.7 miles northwest of Lanark and 4.2 miles southeast of Wishaw, sitting on a high plateau overseeing the River Clyde, directly at the heart of Lanarkshire's fruit growing region. In accordance with a population survey in 2008, it has a permanent population of about 19500, which makes it the Clyde Valley's most populated town. Carluke's expansion started most quickly through the time of the industrial revolution, with corn milling, cotton weaving, coal mining and the manufacture of bricks, glass, confectionary and jam becoming the town's most significant industries. Currently, Carluke is predominantly a commuting town. The town is served by dual carriageways connecting it to the M8 and M74, and additionally, it benefits from regular trains to Lanark, Motherwell, Hamilton, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Despite this, you'll find a number of major employers based inside the town. As a consequence of Carluke's proximity to Clyde Valley's major fruit growers, the jam business, Renshaw Scott, is a significant employer, which developed further by recently adding a chocolate refinery to their plant. Main redevelopment works have been completed in the town since the start of the 21st century. There's a sizeable quantity of independent shops and supermarkets in the vibrant and newly regenerated town centre, with residents of neighbouring villages, including Braidwood, Forth, Kilncadzow and Law, taking advantage of the wide range of shops and services that can be discovered in Carluke. In 2010, a '1.1 million indoor soft play and cafe', 'The Bubbles Factory', was constructed, which was voted 'The best Play in the UK'. For all your property upgrades, ensure that you use trustworthy specialists in Carluke to make sure you get the very best quality.

    FAQs

Can I make my neighbour repair their fence?

For a lot of home and property owners in the UK, a common courtesy is being neighbourly and several people find it relatively easy to get along with the folks next door. However, for most individuals, where the major dispute arises most times is due to boundaries which can lead to impasse that may only be resolved through legal action. But since nobody wants that, when boundary issues become more than just passing a comment about the current condition of the fence, you may want to clue yourself up on what to do to get the desired action. If attempts have been made to talk to your neighbour to no avail, there are a couple of things you can consider to make “them next door repair their fence. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight on these things to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!

Firstly, it should be stated that if the fence poses an immediate danger then the usual legalities doesn’t apply. In this scenario, you may need to report to the local council who’ll take the necessary action on your behalf.

    • Offer assistance. Since the cost of repairing a fence isn’t the cheapest thing to do, a lot of people might not be too eager to carry out this project and any friendly suggestion to do so may not be taken kindly. So if you feel that the this may be the issue, you can try offering some assistance to lessen the financial burden on your neighbour.
    • Put up your own fence. If all attempts fail, you can consider erecting your own fence. However, this must be on your own property and as close to the boundary as possible.
Fence ownership: who owns that garden fence?

When it comes to fence ownership and responsibility, this is often a subject of dispute between neighbours and understandably so. Owning a fence comes with a number of responsibilities such as arranging and paying for the maintenance and more. Therefore, if you’re not yet sure who owns the garden fence, then you’d probably want to have that sorted to make sure your property stays protected at all times. In this post, we’re going to give you an insight into some of the rules guiding fence ownership in order to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!

There’s no rule of thumb on whether you own the fence on the right hand or the left hand side of your property. Therefore, if you’ve heard any “rules that states otherwise, you can fling that out the window because not everyone will own the left hand side to their fence. The first way to determine who owns the garden fence or which side of the fence you’re responsible for is simply by looking. Although this is not guaranteed or a definite way to determine ownership, it can go a long way to give you a good idea. As you would have expected, fences are most likely built on the land that belongs to the boundary’s owner with the further edge of the fence making the actual boundary. As a result, you can determine a fence ownership simply by identifying where the frames are.

Also, you can determine fence ownership using the title deeds for an official and accurate answer. A copy should be given alongside your paperwork which is received when purchasing your house.

    How to build a fence?

The best way to build a fence depends on what style it is, as different types have different components. However, fencing made up of posts and panels is pretty common. To put this up, you’ll need to start by measuring out and digging holes for your fence posts. Then you’ll need to fit the panels between them and use concrete to secure the posts in the ground.

    How much does fencing cost?

The most basic fencing starts at about £27 per panel. But if you want something that’s more decorative and better quality, expect to budget £30-£40 per panel. If you choose to get a professional to help you put up your fencing, they’ll probably be able to get your panels at a cheaper rate.
