Are you interested in getting fencing installed in Bo'ness? Using the Quotatis service it's possible to contrast up to 4 fencing companies in order to get the very best deal available for the job you need.
Fencing is very important for all houses whether it's the front or back garden. From maintenance work to a full installation of new fencing, working with a reliable contractor is highly advised to get the best price available.
Fencing work as a boundary to our homes and with an installation you'll add protection to your property preventing easy access to your back garden. Back garden fences are typically close to six feet high, which right away will make it harder for intruders to gain entry.
Decorative fences or wooden picket fencing tend to be most appropriate for the front garden, where security isn't as vital. Instead, you're more likely to select a front garden fence particularly for design and also to add something different.
For whatever sort of fencing you're looking to have installed, be sure you use our totally free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Bo'ness.
The regular cost of a new or replacement fence is approximately £20-£45 per foot, not including removing your existing fence which could cost an extra £5-10 per foot. The labour costs depend on the length and height of your fence, the number of posts and the material used. It will also differ among regions, so it's best to get a few quotes to see what the best price is in your area.

Bo'ness, officially named Borrowstounness, is a coastal parish in the Central Lowlands of Scotland. Before the local government reforms towards the end of the 20th century, it was part of the county of West Lothian. Lying on a hillside on the south bank of the Firth of Forth within the Falkirk council area, it's 16.9 miles northwest of Edinburgh and 6.7 miles east of Falkirk. According to the 2001 Census, Bo'ness features a permanent resident population of about 13,961, and estimates in 2008 have suggested that it has grown to around 14,490 residents. The majority of the inhabitants commute to work, primarily to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Flakirk, which means that the town is largely a commuter town. One of several most significant employers is the Ineos petrochemical facility, which is positioned by Grangemouth, close to the town. Bo'ness has a lot of attractions that are popular with local residents and guests. Some examples include the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway, the Birkhill Fireclay Mine along with the remains of an engine house. Kinneil House, a original property maintained by Historic Scotland, is located within a public park and the grounds in which James Watt developed the steam engine. His workshop is still in ruins. The town also features a recently redeveloped Hippodrome Cinema, the oldest picture house in Scotland, constructed in 1912 and created by a local architect and resident, Matthew Steele. For all your house upgrades, make sure that you pick reputable professionals in Bo'ness to make sure that you get a good quality service.

Not if they are under 1 metre high if next to a road or 2 metres high elsewhere. It’s always recommended to check with your neighbours and the local authority if you are unsure. Other restrictions may apply, for example if a fence might impact driver visibility on nearby roads.
There are quite a few different types of garden fencing that are readily available, so you’ll have plenty to choose from. If you’ve got a strict budget, waney edge panel fencing is a good option. It’s made up of horizontal wood strips and is generally the cheapest type of fencing. Another good option is closed feather-edge panels. These are a really strong type of fence, made up of concrete posts and panels of vertical strips of wood. You can also get more decorative types of fencing with combinations of vertical and horizontal wood strips.
As a home or property owner, you’re generally allowed to build next to your neighbour’s fence as long as it’s on your own side of the property. With that in mind, there are certain laws that regulate how close a fence can be built to buildings on the same lot or neighbouring lots. In addition, there are also local bylaws that provide limitations on the placements as well as height of fences so as to address safety hazards. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into how close you can build to your neighbour. Let’s take a look!
In general, if the fence is in your boundary then you’re allowed to build a 2-metre high brick or wooden fence or wall. However, this may differ depending on your location in the UK. As a result, you may want to reach out to your municipality’s building department in order to determine what these rules and limitations are in your area. In the events whereby there are no such restrictions but you’re still concerned, you can try informing your neighbour what your concerns are. However, if they’re not receptive there are some steps you can take to ensure your plans go as smoothly as possible. These steps include the following:
Speaking to the owners of the neighbouring properties is recommended. If you are still unsure, you may need to check the original deeds to the property. Generally the rule is that you are responsible for the fence at the right hand side of your property.
