Liskeard
Liskeard is an old stannary and also market community and civil parish in south east Cornwall, England, UK. Liskeard is positioned about 20 miles (32 km) west of Plymouth, 14 miles (23 kilometres) west of the River Tamar and the boundary with Devon, as well as 12 miles (20 km) east of Bodmin. The community is at the head of the Looe valley in the ancient numerous West Wivelshire and has a population of 9,417. Liskeard was the base of the previous Caradon District Council and also it still has a town council. There are 3 wards in Liskeard (consisting of Dobwalls). The overall population at the 2011 census was 11,366. In 1974 Liskeard was twinned with Quimperlé (Kemperle) in Brittany, France.
