St Columb
St Columb Major is a town and also civil parish in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. Often referred to locally as St Columb, it is about seven miles (11 kilometres) southwest of Wadebridge and 6 miles (10 km) east of Newquay. The designation Significant differentiates it from the nearby settlement and church of St Columb Minor on the shore. A selecting ward merely named St Columb exists with a population at the 2011 census of 5,050. Twice a year the town plays host to "tossing", a middle ages video game when typical throughout Cornwall today just played in St Columb and also St Ives. It is used Shrove Tuesday and then again on the Saturday eleven days later on.
