Dalton-in-furness
Dalton-in-Furness is a town of 8,125 individuals, north east of Barrow-in-Furness, in Cumbria, England. It is the 2nd biggest negotiation in the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness after Barrow itself and also is most kept in mind for being the place of South Lakes Safari Zoo. Dalton is discussed in the Domesday Book, written as "Daltune" as one of the territories creating the Manor of Hougun held by Tostig Godwinson, Earl of Northumbria. Historically, it was the funding of Furness. The ancient parish of Dalton covered the area which is now inhabited by the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness. The community is currently in the civil church of Dalton Town with Newton. Historically a part of Lancashire, the town is connected with a number of well-known artists, including George Romney.
