Tonypandy
Tonypandy is a town and neighborhood situated in the region district of Rhondda Cynon Taf, within the historical region borders of Glamorgan, Wales, lying in the Rhondda Fawr Valley. A previous industrial coal mining community, today Tonypandy is best referred to as the website of the 1910 Tonypandy riots. Tonypandy implies fulling mill lea, from Welsh bunch (archaic tonnau) for lea, layland, pasture, grassland or unploughed land; pannu for fulling as well as ty for residence (cf. pandy).
