Crickhowell
Crickhowell is a small town and also area in southeastern Powys, Wales, near Abergavenny, and was in the historical region of Brecknockshire. The name Crickhowell is extracted from that of the close-by Iron Age hill ft of Crug Hywel over the town, the Welsh language name being anglicised by map-makers and neighborhood English-speaking individuals. The town rests on the River Usk, on the southerly edge of the Black Hills and in the eastern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Significant parts of the surrounding countryside, over 20,000 acres (81 km2) create part of the Glanusk Park estate. A selecting ward in the very same name exists. This ward includes The Vale of Grwyney neighborhood as well as has a total population of 2,801 as taken at the 2011 census. The present councillor is John Morris, a Liberal Democrat.
