Crickhowell
Crickhowell is a village and also community in southeastern Powys, Wales, near Abergavenny, and remained in the historical county of Brecknockshire. The name Crickhowell is drawn from that of the neighboring Iron Age hill ft of Crug Hywel over the town, the Welsh language name being anglicised by map-makers as well as local English-speaking individuals. The town pushes the River Usk, on the southerly edge of the Black Mountains as well as in the eastern part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Considerable parts of the surrounding countryside, over 20,000 acres (81 km2) form part of the Glanusk Park estate. A selecting ward in the very same name exists. This ward includes The Vale of Grwyney neighborhood and also has an overall population of 2,801 as taken at the 2011 census. The current councillor is John Morris, a Liberal Democrat.
