Cockermouth
Cockermouth is an old market community and civil parish in the District of Allerdale in Cumbria, England, so called because it is at the convergence of the River Cocker as it moves right into the River Derwent. The mid-2010 census price quotes mention that Cockermouth has a population of 8,204, boosting to 8,761 at the 2011 Census. Historically a part of Cumberland, Cockermouth is positioned outside the English Lake District on its northwest edge. Much of the architectural core of the community remains the same considering that the basic medieval format was completed the 18th as well as 19th centuries. The regenerated market location is now a central historic focus within the community and mirrors events from its 800-year background. The town is prone to flooding and also skilled severe floodings in 2005, 2009, and 2015.
