Ambleside
Ambleside is a town in Cumbria, in North West England. Historically in Westmorland, it is positioned at the head of Windermere, England's biggest natural lake. The community is within the Lake District National Park. Ambleside is provided by South Lakeland District Council and types part of the Lakes civil parish yet from 1894 to 1935 it was a different urban district council. Ferries (still known as "steamers", although currently diesel powered) run to Bowness-on-Windermere and also Lakeside supplying fine sights of the lake and bordering mountains.
