St Bees
St Bees is a coastal village, civil parish and selecting ward in the Copeland district of Cumbria, England, on the Irish Sea. It was originally in the historical county of Cumberland. Within the church is St Bees Head which is the only Heritage Shore between Wales and also Scotland which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is an RSPB book and also has the largest seabird nest in north-west England. St Bees Lighthouse bases on the North Head which is one of the most westerly point of Northern England. St Bees is a prominent vacation destination as a result of the shoreline and closeness to the Western Lake District. In the village there is the Norman St Bees Priory, and St Bees School established in 1583. The Wainwright Coast to Coast Stroll begin with the north end of St Bees Bay. The village is served by the Cumbrian Coast Railway.
