Cleator Moor
Cleator Moor is a town, civil parish and 2 electoral wards (north and also south) in the English area of Cumbria and within the borders of the historic region of Cumberland. The community's horizon is controlled by Dent Fell and also the community lies on the 190 miles (310 kilometres) Coast to Coast Walk that extends Northern England. On the outskirts of the town of Cleator Moor exists the village of Cleator with which the community is carefully associated. As a settlement of note, it was substantially occupied by immigrants from the North Eastern counties of Ireland in the latter half of the 19th century, causing the colloquial title of Little Ireland. With the decline of conventional industries and the resulting high price of unemployment, the community's economic climate is now dependent on the neighboring Sellafield complex, which provides work to around half the community's people.
