Llandrindod Wells
Llandrindod Wells is a community as well as area in Powys, within the historic boundaries of Radnorshire, Wales. It acts as the seat of Powys County Council and thus the management centre of Powys. It was created as a medspa community in the 19th century, with a boom in the late 20th century as a centre of local government. Before the 1860s the site of the community was common land in Llanfihangel Cefn-llys parish. Llandrindod Wells is the 5th largest community in Powys, as well as the biggest in Radnorshire. In a 2018 survey carried out by Rightmove, Llandrindod was elected the Happiest Area in Wales. A study by the Royal Mail over the Easter 2018 period revealed that Llandrindod had the highest on-line purchasing prices for that period in the whole of the nation.
