Pencader
Pencader is a small town in the Welsh area of Carmarthenshire, and also is part of the Community as well as Parish of Llanfihangel-ar-Arth. It lies around 3 miles (5 kilometres) south-east of Llandysul and 6.5 miles (10 kilometres) south-west of Llanybydder, in the valley of the Gwen brook, soon before the assemblage with the River Talog, to develop the River Tyweli (a tributary of the Teifi). It is a peaceful village with little more than 500 homes, 2 stores, as well as 2 clubs. Pencader's background returns a long way. For many years, it was just one of the major stops on the Carmarthen - Aberystwyth rail route, as well as was the joint for the service to Newcastle Emlyn; the Pencader Tunnel enabled services to reach Carmathen using Llanpumsaint. The decline of the trains saw the Newcastle Emlyn branch line enclosed 1952 and the main line near to passengers in 1965.
