Tregaron
Tregaron is an old market community in Ceredigion, Wales, astride the River Brenig, a tributary of the River Teifi. Tregaron is 11 miles (18 kilometres) northeast of Lampeter. According to the 2011 Census, the population of the ward of Tregaron was 1,213 and 67% of the population could talk Welsh. Tregaron is a neighborhood. The church is dedicated to St Caron. He was a man of lowly origins but "his courage and also charitable deportment obtained him the sovereignty in Wales: he made war versus the Romans, reigned seven years and was hidden in Tregarron".: He is probably the same person as Carausius that took power in Britain in 286 and also was executed in 293 by Allectus (additionally see Carausian Revolt). A very early Christian stone piece bearing the name Carausius and also the Chi Rho symbol is maintained in Penmachno. The church has a tower and bases on a rough renown. It includes an easy nave as well as chancel. Other noteworthy structures in the community include the 13th-century Talbot Hotel, which apparently has an elephant hidden in its grounds. The remote church Soar y mynydd is close to Tregaron. In March, 1977, a home near Tregaron was one target of an Operation Julie cops raid in which substantial amounts of the medication LSD were confiscated. Nearby Cors Caron (Tregaron Bog), is known for its adders, buzzards, red kites, and polecats. The River Brenig is noted for its brownish trout and also eels. The river has actually been the subject of dredging and flood-protection works to supply 1-in-100-year flood defense to the community and also enhance the atmosphere for wildlife along a stretch of river.
