Beauly
Beauly is a community in the Kilmorack Parish of the Scottish Area of Inverness, on the River Beauly, 10 miles (16 km) west of Inverness by the Far North train line. The community is currently within the Highland council area. The land around Beauly is fertile - traditionally corn was expanded thoroughly and much more lately fruit has actually effectively been farmed. The community traditionally sold coal, wood, lime, grain as well as fish. In January 2010, the Scottish government authorized controversial prepare for a high-voltage line upgrade that will begin in Beauly as well as end in Denny, Falkirk. The new power line, part of a plan to lug electrical energy created by wind farms on the Western Isles, was called "one of the most substantial grid infrastructure task in a generation" by Jim Mather MSP. The 220-kilometre (140 mi) line will consist of a network of 600 pylons, varying in elevation from 42 to 65 metres (138 to 213 feet). The initial part of the transmission circuit (Beauly to Fort Augustus) was turned on in July 2013. The population of Beauly was 1,126 in 1991, 1,283 in 2001 and also 1,365 in 2011.
