Abbots Langley
Abbots Langley is a sizeable village and civil parish in the English county of Hertfordshire. It is an old settlement and is named Langelai in the Domesday Book of 1086. This village has a long history of effective human habitation. The very first traces of human residence in the region were logged by distinguished archaeologist Sir John Evans. The village sits on a saucer of clay covered by a layer of gravel, and because of this water supply has never been a problem; documents show that in earlier times water could be drawn from a well just twenty feet deep.
