Chalfont St Giles
Chalfont St Giles is a village and civil church within the Chiltern area in south eastern Buckinghamshire, England, on the edge of the Chilterns, 20.9 miles (33.6 kilometres) west-north-west of Charing Cross, main London, and near Seer Green, Jordans, Chalfont St Peter, Little Chalfont and also Amersham. Chalfont means chalk spring, of the water bring capacities of the regional terrain. The village has a duck pond that is fed by the River Misbourne. In 2009, the town was awarded the European Diploma of the Council of Europe in acknowledgment of its initiatives to circulate the suggestion of European unity.
