Wooler
Wooler is a village in Northumberland, England. It rests on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, near the Cheviot Hills. It is a popular base for walkers and is described as the "Gateway to the Cheviots". In addition to lots of shops as well as clubs, the town has a youth hostel, numerous hotels, and also camping areas. It lies on the St. Cuthbert's Way long-distance walkway between Melrose Abbey as well as Lindisfarne. The main A697 links the community with Morpeth and Coldstream on the Scottish Border. Wooler has two institutions; Wooler First School (consisting of Little Acorns Nursery) and Glendale Community Intermediate School. The schools as well as nursery share a single university on Brewery Road (from September 2015) offering education and learning for youngsters in the Glendale location from 2 years old to 13 years old. Nearby is Yeavering Bell, crowned by a large Iron Age ft, a stronghold of the Votadini. The residues of lots of stone huts can be seen on its summit. A selecting ward in the same name exists. This ward stretches from the Scottish Border south-east to Ingram with a complete population taken at the 2011 Census of 4,266.
