Jedburgh
Jedburgh is a town as well as previous royal burgh in the Scottish Boundaries as well as the typical county town of the historical region of Roxburghshire. Jedburgh lies on the Jed Water, a tributary of the River Teviot. It is 10 miles (16 km) from the border with England, and also is dominated by the considerable ruins of Jedburgh Abbey. Other significant buildings in the community include Queen Mary's House, Jedburgh Castle Jail, currently a gallery, and the Jedburgh Collection. Other areas close by are Ancrum, Bairnkine, Bonjedward, Camptown, Crailing, Edgerston, Ferniehirst Castle, Nisbet as well as Oxnam.
