Marlborough
Marlborough is a market community and civil parish in the English region of Wiltshire on the Old Bath Road, the old highway from London to Bath. It boasts the 2nd widest high street in Britain, after Stockton-on-Tees. The community gets on the River Kennet, 24 miles (39 kilometres) north of Salisbury and 10 miles (16 km) south-southeast of Swindon. Marlborough has an oceanic environment somewhat affected by its inland placement and also at 124 metres' altitude is extra vulnerable to frost than southerly seaside locations. In 2004 Marlborough celebrated 800 years of its Town Charter. Amongst the celebrations were a road play by the Marlborough Players entitled Wheels of Time, and also a browse through from HRH Prince Charles.
