If you’re considering converting a barn or buying one, you shouldn’t need to worry about it being cold. This is because building regulations dictate that when you convert a barn, you need to insulate it to meet specific standards. However, it’s worth considering its heating system and ceiling heights carefully – some barn conversions are likely to take longer and be more expensive to heat up than others.
Barnehurst
Barnehurst is a town and district in South East London within the London Borough of Bexley. It's north east of Bexleyheath, and is 13 miles east south-east of Charing Cross. It is separated from North Bexleyheath by the A220 Erith Road.
The town was established just after the sale of land in 1881 to develop the Bexleyheath loop line in between Lewisham and Dartford. Its name stems from the name of the railway station, which was named after Colonel Barne, who owned a local home and was vice-chairman of the railway company. Now, the railway station runs trains between London Charing Cross, London Victoria or London Cannon Street, through Lewisham and Eltham to the west and Dartford railway station to the east. There are 12 trains per hour in the course of the week; on Sundays, there are four trains an hour. The railway station was openedto stimulate the construction of homes. The Barnehurst Estate was constructed in 1926 which housed lots of people.
Along with the railway station, Barnehurst is served by five buses, one of which goes to the popular Bluewater Shopping Centre. There are hardly any shopping or leisure opportunities within the town, so individuals typically visit surrounding places using public transport links or the primary roads.
