New Romney

New Romney is a village in Kent, England, on the edge of Romney Marsh, an area of flat, rich farming land reclaimed from the sea after the harbour started to silt up. New Romney, among the original Cinque Ports, was as soon as a sea port, with the harbour beside the church, yet is currently more than a mile from the sea. A mooring ring can still be seen in front of the church. It is the head office of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway. Like lots of towns on the marsh it has an outstanding Norman church in the centre of town. This church originally stood at the harbourside, as well as its entries are numerous feet underground degree. The church is likewise noteworthy for the boat hooks still noticeable on the side walls. New Romney's historic high street has a number of little and intriguing shops. A couple of services closed after the opening of a branch of supermarket chain Sainsbury's, but the community maintains a lot of its personality. The former almshouses in West Street are noted historical structures of Kent; they were founded in 1610 by John Southland, an essential neighborhood tycoon, and also rebuilt in 1734. Beside these is Plantagenet House as well as No 3 Old Stone Cottage, which originated as a solitary house built c. 1300-- 1350. Scientists assume it was originally the home of the Master of The Hospital of St John the Baptist, a big nonreligious facility. The healthcare facility was running by c. 1260 and thrived until the close of the fifteenth century.

    FAQs

Fence ownership: who owns that garden fence?

When it comes to fence ownership and responsibility, this is often a subject of dispute between neighbours and understandably so. Owning a fence comes with a number of responsibilities such as arranging and paying for the maintenance and more. Therefore, if you’re not yet sure who owns the garden fence, then you’d probably want to have that sorted to make sure your property stays protected at all times. In this post, we’re going to give you an insight into some of the rules guiding fence ownership in order to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!

There’s no rule of thumb on whether you own the fence on the right hand or the left hand side of your property. Therefore, if you’ve heard any “rules that states otherwise, you can fling that out the window because not everyone will own the left hand side to their fence. The first way to determine who owns the garden fence or which side of the fence you’re responsible for is simply by looking. Although this is not guaranteed or a definite way to determine ownership, it can go a long way to give you a good idea. As you would have expected, fences are most likely built on the land that belongs to the boundary’s owner with the further edge of the fence making the actual boundary. As a result, you can determine a fence ownership simply by identifying where the frames are.

Also, you can determine fence ownership using the title deeds for an official and accurate answer. A copy should be given alongside your paperwork which is received when purchasing your house.

How do I find out who owns a fence?

Speaking to the owners of the neighbouring properties is recommended. If you are still unsure, you may need to check the original deeds to the property. Generally the rule is that you are responsible for the fence at the right hand side of your property.

    How much does fencing cost?

The most basic fencing starts at about £27 per panel. But if you want something that’s more decorative and better quality, expect to budget £30-£40 per panel. If you choose to get a professional to help you put up your fencing, they’ll probably be able to get your panels at a cheaper rate.

Can I attach something to my neighbour’s fence?

There are a number of reasons why disputes can arise between neighbours – all of which can be quite frustrating and challenging. In some cases, this can even cause serious friction and lead to an all-out war. When it comes to the topic of fencing, one of the most common questions that arises is whether or not you can attach something to your neighbour’s fence. If you’re having the same concern, then you’ve come to the right place. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into this to help you make informed decisions moving forward. Let’s take a look!

The short and simple answer to this question is no, you can’t attach anything to your neighbour’s fence. If your neighbour owns the fence and you’ve not obtained any permission to do so, then you’re not allowed to attach anything to the fence. Otherwise, you can get into serious trouble with your neighbour as well as the law. If you want to attach something or have the wall on your side painted using another colour, then there’s the need to get a permission from the owner. And while doing so, make sure you’re provided with a written permission so as to avoid problems later in the future.

Another question that mostly arises is what if your neighbour declines your request, is there anything you can do about it? Well, the answer to this is no, there’s nothing you can do about it unless you’re able to convince your neighbour otherwise. And you should know starting a neighbour war or being spiteful can only make matters worse for you.
