Liskeard is an old stannary and market community and civil parish in south east Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. Liskeard is located about 20 miles (32 km) west of Plymouth, 14 miles (23 km) west of the River Tamar as well as the border with Devon, and also 12 miles (20 kilometres) eastern of Bodmin. The community is at the head of the Looe valley in the old hundred of West Wivelshire and also has a population of 9,417. Liskeard was the base of the previous Caradon District Council and also it still has a town council. There are 3 wards in Liskeard (including Dobwalls). The overall population at the 2011 census was 11,366. In 1974 Liskeard was twinned with Quimperlé (Kemperle) in Brittany, France.
