Belvedere
Belvedere is a town in south east London, England inside the London Borough of Bexley. It is positioned south east of Thamesmead and is located around 12 miles (19 kilometres) southeast of Charing Cross. Belvedere was in Kent, and still features a Kent postcode. It was a part of the Municipal Borough of Erith prior to 1965 and development work took place prior to the Second World War, with significant reconstruction work following the Blitz. Regardless of this, Upper Belvedere and the Village still contains much of its Victorian and Edwardian appeal and character. The splash park retains parts of the historically significant paddling pool structures. From 1898 to 1961, Callender's Cable Works, at the Erith Works, was patron to Callender's Cableworks Band, an amateur brass band formed of workers from the business. The band was a popular broadcaster on BBC Radio in the 1920s and 1930s.
