East Cowes
East Cowes is a town and also civil parish to the north of the Isle of Wight, on the eastern financial institution of the River Medina next to its neighbor on the west bank, Cowes. Both communities are attached by the Cowes Floating Bridge, a chain ferry operated by the Isle of Wight Council. East Cowes is the site of Norris Castle, and Osborne House, the previous summer season house of Queen Victoria as well as Prince Albert. The Prince had a major impact on the architecture of the area, for example on the structure of St Mildred's Church in neighboring Whippingham, which features unique turrets imitating those discovered on a German castle.
